Here, at The French Bedroom Company, we love making lovely things look and feel even lovelier. We spend months in discussions (over many cups of tea) about the design of a new bed - poring over silks and velvets, colour palettes and floral carvings - we know, it's a tough job, but someone has to do it! Once we've finished our musings and passed over the baton to the artisans making our designs come to life, we set about completing our latest dream bedroom - with colour schemes to consider, textures to contemplate and accessories to complement, it's safe to say, a lot work goes into creating one beautiful image.
When the first Provencal Velvet French bed came into us at HQ, it's fair to say there was a flurry of girly excitement as it was unveiled - Christmas had arrived 6 months early and our gift had come in the form of an ethereal antique white painted, luxurious buttoned ivory velvet upholstered French bed. The Provencal Velvet bed encompassed the bridal ivory we'd envisaged along with the plumpness of rich upholstery - we set about selecting complementary items from our collection which would show this special bed at its best. Founder and interior stylist, Georgia Cons, chose a soft, feminine colour scheme, French style bedside tables from the Provencal range, crisp white bed linen with a Colette throw and neutral Tiana Boudoir Cushions - so as not to draw away from the centre piece, and a hint of vintage shabby chic in the corner. Our pretty Princess Crystal Chandelier then oversaw the proceedings from above giving a hint of glamour and elegance.
