Blue is the New Black

Homes are breaking away from the Swedish inspired white interiors which have dominated our mood-boards, interior magazines and screens for the last few years; instead crossing over to the dark side with rich navy hues, ocean deep tones and lusciously luxurious indigo. As with all interior trends there are varying degrees in which to dip your toes in the dark, azure waters - accents here and there for the yet-to-be-convinced, to fabulously inviting velvet sofas for those wanting to dive right in. Whether you're teetering on the edge of the pool or ready to fully submerge yourself in dark blue hues, we've got inspiration to bring you over to the dark side.

When we're looking for dark and moody interiors ideas and inspiration, we head to one of our favourite influencers and interiors stylists, Kerry Lockwood. Kerry has a penchant for midnight hued walls and edgy accessories. We asked our midnight hue maven for her top tips on getting dark and moody in your home.

"Midnight hues are my absolute favourite. I love how dark colours can totally transform a room and make it feel so cosy. My top tips for working with dark, moody colours are to make sure you get the lighting right. Lots of small pools of lighting around the room are key to creating the perfect ambience. Also artwork to add colour which will really pop against those dark walls".
