Amara Interior Blog Award Winners 2014

Our exciting journey towards winning our fabulous Amara Interior Blog Award started back at the beginning of September, when one of our lovely readers took the time to nominate us for the marvellous accolade (thank you reader!!) - from that moment on, we had the pleasure of liaising with the fun and super-efficient team over at awards HQ, tweeting to request all our fab followers and likers vote for us (thank you for getting us onto the shortlist!!), then finally, the nail-biting month in which our blog was judged by top interiors trendsetters from the likes of Farrow & Ball and Andrew Martin, to the renowned interiors guru/journalist Katrina Burroughs and founder of the Society of British and International Design, Vanessa Brady.  This month long wait (October to be precise) then culminated in a stunning awards nights held at the divinely gorgeous Rosewood London...

Arriving in our black cab through the regal archway into the central courtyard of Rosewood, we were greeted by roaring bowls of flames and tweed clad doormen - tres chic! On entering the glittering event we were met by the most luxurious smell from the vast number of scented candles placed on every surface between the most magnificent autumnal toned floral displays all beneath the shimmering ceiling covered in copper coloured mirrors - we'd made it to the striking Mirror Room.  Needless to say, the room was buzzing with some of the most well-known bloggers in the interiors industry and mingle time was well and truly awash with chatter of the latest trends, how blogging can help get those trends to readers as soon as they're emerging and simply how much everyone loves reporting on home design in fun and energetic ways. Somewhere, amid the yummy canapes and wonderfully concocted cocktails, the awards were dished out to the winner of each category - now, this is the part where we think honesty is the best policy, we genuinely did not expect to win, so, when, from our little corner we'd managed to settle into to watch the ceremony, we had won, the reaction was raucous to say the least! From that moment on we are only able to remember being handed our beautifully etched glass award (now full of delicious sweeties), lots of flashing lights and goody bags!

We simply love blogging about all the wonderful things and goings on in the interiors world and the fact that you guys showed your appreciation by not only nominating us, voting us into the shortlist and all the lovely support on our Twitter, Instagram and Facebook pages means so very much to us!
