They’ve slowly and gracefully crept their way into our homes via our wardrobes; it all started with a scarf, then a pleated skirt and before you know it, they’re sleeping on the bed and lounging all over our bedroom sofa in the form of two beautiful velvet cushions and a faux-fur throw. We are, of course, referring to leopard print.

Like all trends, it started on the aptly named 'catwalk' and then, seemingly pounced on our homes at the start of the year, with online searches up 282% in the last 12 months. Leopard print interiors are no longer reserved for the set of Dynasty or Dorian Green’s home. In 2019, leopard print is the bold, fun, interiors splash we all need in for our homes post Scandi-chic minimalism. It’s the cry for something a little less predictable, a bit more personal, without the need to commit to too much colour!

Shun the thoughts of Bett Lynch, instead think of Barbara Hulanicki’s Biba vibes draped in Kate Moss’, rock’n’roll-style favourite faux-fur coat, and you’ve got yourself an edgy, modern cool-cat ready for any domestic environment.

Leopard offers the eclectics and maximalists another pattern to clash; monochrome mavens a warm edge; minimalists a touch of tonal pattern with a nod to nature and, classic lovers a Darwin-esque print to embrace. With almost all interior styles covered, it’s no wonder leopard print accessories are dominating our homes.
