If you're after stylish, modern and inspirational interiors advice and styling we've got the girl; known for her statement pink, marble, metallic, Scandi-chic home which she shares on her phenomenal instagram and blog, Olivia of Lust Living captured our interiors loving hearts back in 2016. We caught up with Olivia to find out what inspires her, her latest project and what to expect in 2018.

Let’s start at the beginning, tell us a bit about you and your home
style.

I’m 27 years young, I live with my boyfriend and my two adorable dogs. I’ve been in my house for about 3 and a half years and I’m very nearly finished decorating all the rooms. My style… if you asked me a year or two ago, I would have said Scandinavian and minimal in a flash, but as time goes on I’m realising that my style is constantly changing and developing. Like fashion, there’s always new trends and a new colour of the year so my style adapts a little bit each year. I do still try to keep my style quite minimal – I don’t like too much going on, but then I like to warm it up a bit with pastel shades and a bit of texture like a Icelandic sheepskin or a warm metallic – maybe a gold lamp!

What’s the story behind Lust Living?

My blog turns two in a couple of weeks! When I first moved into my house I was sharing photos on Instagram of the gradual renovation and interior projects I was doing - I started getting a lot of interest from followers about what I was doing, asking where I was getting things from and so on. About a year after I’d moved in I decided to bite the bullet and start sharing everything I was doing online! Lust Living was born!

You clearly have a great eye for design, and have established a signature look of marble, soft pinks and gold, with plenty of soft sumptuous textures – almost a Scandi-californian-boho aesthetic, what would your top 3 tips be for someone looking to recreate your beautiful style in their own home?

Start with minimal walls - greys and whites are my favourite for a neutral palette.

Neutral walls makes it a lot easier to add a dash of colour and texture without clashing.

Always add a touch of metallic. Be it silver, gold, rose gold or copper - I find metallics really warm up a room.

What’s your favourite room in your home?

It’s got to be the new bathroom - so much time and effort went into creating and building it. Knowing that I designed the entire room by myself makes it pretty special and it’s definitely a rewarding feeling.

After your beautiful bathroom renovations, are you
planning any more makeovers in your home anytime soon?

The next project is the other bathroom - it’s much smaller than the en-suite but it’s pretty ghastly to look at (hence why you have never seen it on Instagram) so it needs completely ripping out and making over!

When you travel, what do you miss most about your bedroom/home?

My bed without a doubt - comfiest place on earth.

What are you dreaming of  for your home at the moment?

I need to replace one of the sofas - I’ve got my eye on a pink velvet, Chablis & Roses sofa, it’s so dreamy

What can we expect to see in 2017/18 from Lust Living?

Big things I hope! But who knows, that’s the great thing about blogging, you never know what opportunity is going to pop up in your inbox! There’s definitely going to be lot’s more YouTube content that’s for sure!
