There’s plenty to snap in Manchester this Christmas, including the infamous Manchester Christmas Markets in the city centre. The markets are spread across 10 different locations over the city, which gives you plenty of ground to cover with loads of photo opportunities! In Northern Quarter, you can grab a pic of the gorgeous street art, and then move on to Mackie Mayor, where you can grab a bite to eat and a stunning picture too. Finally, take a trip just outside the city, to Dunham Massey National Park that looks so beautifully festive this time of year!

The capital city is bound to have plenty of opportunities for Instagram photos, from winter walks along the River Thames, to cosy igloos complete with fluffy blankets and twinkling lights at Coppa Club. You can also go ice skating with the National History Museum as your backdrop, or grab some coffee to warm yourself at one of the many pretty cafes around the city.

Leeds is a festive wonderland at this time of year - no matter where you go you’re bound to find some festive cheer. Both Victoria Arcade and the Corn Exchange are transformed as they’re adorned with twinkling lights and decorations. They both offer the perfect photo opportunity! It’s also worth making a trip to the markets in the centre, where you can stand in front of the beautiful carousel, before heading over to some of the cosy pubs… you’ll have enough photos to take you into next year.

Liverpool is picturesque any time of the year, but in the midst of winter it’s especially beautiful! Just take a look (and a picture) of the festive houses in Georgian Quarter, decorated with wreaths and lights galore. If you’re feeling active, talk a walk through Sefton Park to the Palm House where you’re bound to get a wintery photo in the midst of nature, after which you can head to the Christmas Markets and see the Christmas lights!

Birmingham is home to the longest running German Christmas markets in the United Kingdom, so undoubtedly there’s plenty of Instagram opportunities dotted around. Why not head over to the Bull Ring where you can snap the infamous ‘Bull’ in it’s Christmas outfit before heading for a walk along the canal, guaranteed to look stunning covered in frost. Aston Hall and St Phillips Cathedral will also provide a lovely, wintery backdrop for any picture, so be sure to check them out too.

York is famous for being one of the most historic cities in the country, so there’s no shortage of chances for the perfect photo. A firm favourite for an Instagram picture is The Van Gogh Experience, where you can see Van Gogh’s artwork brought to life on the walls of St Mary’s Church. The Ivy is also guaranteed to provide you with a gorgeous, Christmassy backdrop, and if you’re in York then you can’t pass on a chance to visit the York Minster - especially in winter!

Fenwick’s annual Christmas window display in Newcastle is just screaming for a photo to be taken. Detailing a different story every year, it’ll make you feel more festive than ever before. Tyne bridge is simply dazzling with the winter sun reflecting off of the water too. In the centre, there’s plenty more places as well, just make your way through the markets or to the Central Arcade for pictures abundant with festive cheer!

Edinburgh is known for it’s beautiful landscape, and winter time is no exception. Just take a visit to Dean Village or the Royal Mile, and be blown away by the stunning architecture, or head up to Calton Hill to take a view of the city from up high. You won’t be able to resist getting your phone out for a picture! If you’re wanting Christmas spirit, The Dome on George Street is also guaranteed to light up your Insta with cheer.

Cardiff has Instagram opportunities aplenty, including magnificent views at Cardiff Bay and wintery walks along Roath Lake. There are also delightful markets to be snapped up along with sparkling lights within Morgan Arcade - your instagram will look prettier than ever!

When you think of Bristol, we bet you think of the thriving street art culture that makes for an iconic Instagram photo, but there’s a lot more to consider than that! Bristol Cathedral and the Old City provide the perfect amount of history, whilst The Clifton Arcade and The Suspension Bridge give a more classic, wintery feel for your background. If you’re wanting something more colourful, The Ivy’s Christmas decorations give off a sense of warmth, and the rainbow coloured houses along Hotwell Road will at a pop of colour!
