Our New Collection of Ravishing Rugs

A beautiful rug can sometimes be the missing link in a room - pick the perfect one to suit your space and style and it will either bring the room together or lift the room with a touch of attitude. From silken shaggy sheepskins to statement cowhides, here's how to choose from our new offerings.

Superlong Hide

Superlong Stretched Cowhide Rug: available in 3 sizes, from £518 for L240 x W82cm size

If you are looking for a rug to span the length of a narrow room and a runner is just too “hallway-like”, this English-designed and made beauty is a stunning choice. It's created with a modified high quality image of a cowhide digitally printed onto a special rubber backed fabric, shaped to look just like the real thing but with that extra length. There are no actual hairs - ideal for allergy sufferers and those who aren't keen on the idea of a real animal skin underfoot. It's especially perfect for rooms which have been knocked through to create larger spaces or which are separated with double doors regularly kept open - lay the rug down in one space and it will lead you through seamlessly to the other.

Cowhides are always going to look handsome, wherever they live! Their unique natural designs can vary so much from one hide to another making each one totally unique. Their organic shape lends itself ideally to spaces with awkward corners or which are lacking a lot of free floorspace, as the edges of the hides can sit unobtrusively under chair legs or under sofas - they are flat enough for furniture to remain stable whilst stood on top of it.  If your space is particularly large, why not use multiple cowhides, each containing groupings of French furniture and accessories within a room whilst also pulling different styles together. For example, a large bedroom can be separated into sleeping, dressing, and working areas by laying individual cowhides under the furniture in each of these designated areas. So for example a hide at the end of an upholstered bed underneath a blanket box, a hide underneath a French dressing table, dressing table stool and decorative dressing mirror, and a hide under the desk, chair and floor-standing lamp.

Persian Cowhide in Black & White, Brown & White, Black & Grey: £688 each; Renaissance Rug: £688

One of our new Renaissance or Persian Rugs will be the focal point in any room where they lay - they are beautiful and unique (if we do say so ourselves!) - essentially “floor art”. The pieces feature images overlayed with tufts of fur and hand cut out in a special rubber backed fabric. A fusion between art and utility, they'll add a beautifully surreal touch to any interior. The Persian design marries the essence of a regimented geometric traditional Persian rug pattern with the irregular shape of a very natural cowhide.

Clockwise from top left - Icelandic Sheepskin in Grey, Ivory, Black, Rusty Brown: from £70 each

If you have a wooden floor - whether it's painted floorboards or a solid wood flooring, warmth underfoot is so important. Our new Icelandic sheepskins provide loose natural shapes with super-deep piles for sinking feet into as you step out of your French bed or upholstered bed first thing in the morning pre-slippers, or at the edge of a sofa if you're perched on the edge with your laptop on the coffee table. Drape and layer the textures over distressed leather sofas like our Cherished Chesterfield Sofa or a comfy linen armchair for the most comfortable and warmest seat in the house. One of our favourite (and most beautiful) blogs French By Design illustrates the look perfectly here with a montage of harmonious and serene shots of cosy corners...
