After a recent visit to Egypt to bathe under the Arabic winter rays, we've fallen under the spell of the beautiful art and interiors that our interior-magpie eyes alighted upon. Arabic design offers a treasure chest of styles, be it a Moorish archway, a tented/vaulted ceiling, bone inlaid furniture, Zellige tiles, Islamic star and crescent patterns, ornate doorways and mirrors, marble basins, a quatrefoil design or a simple pierced metal light. Taking a break from our usual eye for classic French style furniture, Arabic style brings flamboyant Bedouin charm and timeless design into hundreds of achingly chic homes around the world. It also reaches far and wide across continents and disciplines. If you're not picturing Arabic design and French furniture rocking your Casbah in matching top hats & canes singing, then you should be. They're a match made in heaven, and not a clash (sorry!) of style in sight.
