With Valentine's Day fast approaching as the next key date in the calendar, anyone who’s coupled up may currently be giving thought to romantic gifts. If you're looking for a way to melt your loved one's heart, nothing says “I love you” more than a heartwarming breakfast…especially when it’s served in bed with a glass of bubbly.  So dish up a little devotion to your sweetheart with The French Bedroom Company's 'Four Bs' recipe for love...

Luxury French Bed

The most important element for a Valentine's breakfast to start your day off perfectly. Take one deep buttoned, upholstered French bed and you have an idyllic base for your romantic meal. Pile the down pillows high, make sure the plump duvet is fluffed and ensure your luxury mattress is buttery soft.

100% Linen Bed Linen

The most sumptuous dressing to adorn your Valentine's love nest is our Lisbon bed linen, made from 100% European linen. Available in Valentine-perfect blush pink, as well as grey tones and ivory, there's something endlessly enchanting about 100% linen bedding. Its soft, relaxed look is begging to be luxuriated on and whispers "come hither". Layer the soft natural tones of our linen with warm, tactile textures such as ivory sheepskins and velvet bedspreads for romantic cosiness, ideal for hours of snuggling.

The Breakfast in Bed

In his book 'Breakfast at the Wolseley', critic AA Gill declared Eggs Benedict “the star, the Marilyn Monroe of brunch”. You couldn't ask for much more of your Valentine's spread than an iconic Hollywood siren, could you? Its indulgent concoction of curvy poached eggs, soft muffin and decadant bacon, cloaked in silky hollandaise sauce, is the culinary equivalent of a tantalising French kiss.

Our favourite, tried and tested recipe for the perfect Eggs Benedict can be found here.

If you’re not so taken by Eggs Benedict, use this fun printable from Kate Spade to cover your every weakness.

The Beverage

On any normal day, a cup of tea handed over first thing is thoughtful enough - but on Valentine's Day, the bar ought to be raised a few levels when it comes to refreshments. We consider fresh strawberry mimosas the only beverage to wake up to on 14th February.  Here's our recipe for ensuring a smile on your honey's face:

Mimosa Ingredients

55g chilled homemade Strawberry Juice

145ml chilled Champagne

1 sliced strawberry for each mimosa

a fresh strawberry for garnish

How to Make Fresh Strawberry Juice

Make homemade strawberry juice by blending a large handful of washed and sliced strawberries with 1/2 cup water.

Strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove any seeds.

Store the strawberry juice in the fridge to chill before mixing the Strawberry Mimosas.

How To Make Strawberry Mimosas

Place strawberry slices in the bottom of a champagne flute.

Fill the champagne flute half way full of the strawberry juice.

Pour champagne into the flute until full.

Garnish each glass with a fresh berry.

Will make about 6-8 mimosas.

Just in case you're not as organised as we originally anticipated, there's still time to have some of our goodies delivered to your sweetheart in time for the big day...
