Morning Coffee Musings

I love this time of year; leaves crunching, fires lit and that distinctive Autumn smell in the air. It’s half term next week, so I’m really looking forward to spending some quality time with the family. It has been all systems go since we returned from our break in Italy, so it will be nice to regroup. Speaking of Italy, our wonderful trip really inspired me to bring a piece of it into my home with the gorgeous Dreaming Spires 4-Poster Bed . You can even see the olive branches we styled with, which I carefully packed away in my suitcase – much to the children’s amusement!

Bonfire night is just around the corner, so I plan to spend the next few weeks picking all the scrumptious apples from our tree and creating a delicious mulled cider. It’s a firm favourite with our family and friends whilst watching the fireworks, warming the cockles, and really getting us into the winter mood.

Although it may be a little early, we have been thinking a lot about Christmas and ensuring we are organised!  We love Christmas in our household, and I have been dreaming up ways I can turn our home into a cosy grotto. We have lots of products to help turn your home into a snug retreat for the festive season, and some great gift ideas too. If you are looking to treat a loved one (or yourself!), don’t forget to order by 30th November for large items such as beds, in order to ensure they arrive by Christmas.

The weather is turning, so now is the time to curl up and get cosy - this volume we’re talking about gift ideas, fashion, and some Sunday Autumn activities for you to enjoy. We’re also catching up with Grace and Blossom Interiors owner and influencer, Emily.

Enjoy.

Sunday Discoveries

We absolutely love discovering hidden gems, and our favourite part is that we get to share them with you so that you can enjoy them too. We know some may say it is a little too early to be thinking about Christmas, but this month we are bringing you some fabulous gift ideas, as well as some gorgeous and cosy winter outfits.

Gifts:

Begg x Co

We are passionate about our products, and we love finding others that love theirs just as much too. Begg x Co offer a range of gorgeous cashmere, silk and wool products. We particularly love the cashmere silk scarfs, which are perfect for keeping you cosy for this time of year! Based in the small Scottish coastal towns of Ayr and the home of cashmere, Hawick, they make and design every collection at their mill and draw inspiration from Scotland’s rich and diverse cultural heritage. A perfect gift idea – or for just treating yourself!

Edge of Ember

We love delicate and meaningful jewellery and Edge of Ember offer some absolutely gorgeous pieces. 75% of their products are made from recycled materials, and they offer both personalised and engraved pieces, which make the most perfect gifts. We particularly love the engravable birth stone necklaces.

Johnny Loves Rosie

Another hidden gem we’ve discovered is Johnny Loves Rosie. They offer gorgeous personalised, customisable, unique bags and accessories – and they’re vegan too. The Carrie cross body bag is stunning, and can be personalised with initials too.

Wear:

Nothing beats Autumn and Winter fashion, chunky knit jumpers, boots and big coats. We love oversized cashmere jumpers, particularly in the subtle tones of camel, coffee and toffee. Cos have some absolutely gorgeous cosy cashmere jumpers, perfect for keeping you snug and warm – but looking stylish too. Pair them with some fleece lined comfortable leggings, and Veja trainers for the ultimate Autumn look.

Do:

It may only be October, but its definitely time to start preparing for Christmas! Sundays are perfect for baking, so why not start preparing your Christmas cake. Christmas cake should be made around two or three months before Christmas -  this gives you plenty of time to let it mature! We really love this recipe.  With Autumn in full swing, it’s the perfect time to collect conkers – rumour has it they are good for keeping spiders away – check out our blog to discover some other tips and tricks too!

Sunday Brunch: Emily Attewell

This week we are catching up with our influencer and small business owner, Emily, who runs the stunning home Instagram account – Bathtubs and Buttercups. Her business Grace & Blossom Interiors offers gorgeous handmade soft furnishings gifts & accessories – and we can’t wait to find out more about her!

1. Describe your perfect Sunday.

A cosy, rainy Sunday with a roast in the oven. Watching films, all snuggled up on the sofa with the fire on and candles lit.

2. What’s your go-to guilty pleasure?

Watching Downton Abbey on repeat with a big bar of chocolate or Friends, love that too.

3. What’s your favourite family memory?

It has to be Christmas Eve, when we’d lay the Christmas table and each get to open a present early. Freshly baked sausage rolls, Terry’s chocolate orange and Cadbury Roses in abundance.

4. If you could go back to anytime in history, when and where would you go?

Downton Abbey in the Victorian times, I love all that stuff. I think I could see myself in one of those great big dresses.

5. What’s your favourite midnight snack?

Left over pizza, has to be!
